Initially Ralph and I weren’t really planning on doing an engagement shoot since we’re not really into it and because we are probably the most awkward people you’ll meet so we can’t really imagine ourselves posing in front of the camera. Also, we thought we’d rather save up for the wedding. But when we arrived to Armenia for a holiday and seen how beautiful the city is, our plans have changed and decided to go for it. It was probably one of the best decisions we ever made.
I searched for photographers in Armenia online and found Arthur from Lumen Weddings. All of our communications were just through Facebook. He’s probably one of the best photographers we’ve ever met. Since we didn’t have a clue what to do or where to go for this engagement shoot, we just let him decide everything.
We just met Arthur in the city on the day of our photoshoot and he drove us to this majestic location near a dam just 1 hour away from the city. He was very accommodating and super nice!
It was such a beautiful location. It was fairy tale like. Ralph and I were in awe the whole time. We just told Arthur how we want our photos – we want it earthy and fieeld with natural light.
Surprisingly, Ralph and I didn’t really feel awkward and shy during the shoot. This is because Arthur, our photographer was really friendly and we just felt like we were with a friend. It all felt natural. It was really magical, we felt like we were just on a date in the middle of the woods, enjoying the stunning views. It was very relaxed. We really enjoyed the experience.
It was really unforgettable and totally worth it.
Now if you’ll ask me if you should do an engagement photoshoot?
I’d totally say that you should go for it. At the end of the day, the photos were just extra. What mattered most for us was that whole unforgettable experience and realizing that we’re really engaged and will be spending the rest of our lives together (we got engaged in January 2018 but that didn’t really sink it to us til after our engagement shoot).
